Job interview experience

First official job interview.
I was very super nervous. Although i heard many stories of what to expect when i go for interview at this company, my heart couldn't stop beating..
As i was travelling there, i decided to turn to the Lord for help.. This memory verse took on a special meaning at that point...

Whenever I am afraid,
I will trust in You.
In God (I will praise His word),
In God I have put my trust;
I will not fear.
What can flesh do to me?
Psalm 56:3-4

When there was no confidence in myself, I found the confidence in God. When i feared that I would stumble and appear weak in front of the interviewers, I knew that the Lord is able to calm me that i may consider my words. When i was worried that i was not up to the standards required of the job, I realize that only God's standards were important... The Lord's Word can be so relevant all the time.. Indeed I want to praise His Word!!

Easter is approaching.. How is it going to be different this time? Doing AV for concert is quite nerve-wrecking.. Not only because of the stress of multi-tasking and mixing the voices properly, but also coz i'm not meeting the standards i set for myself.. But this is not what faith is about.. Faith is not meeting my own standards and being able to perform well 100% of the time.. But it is being able to acknowledge God's hand, helping me to refine my skills, my listening, my focus, my confidence, my reflex... I ought to thank God for every opportunity to learn to increase in my ministry... Thanks to Andrew and Jermaine and Pastor for tolerating my mistakes.. Keep learning.. keep growing!!

My uni life is so fun coz of this bunch of friends i have!! Had a pizza party awaiting me when i went to school yesterday.. been a while since anyone organised a surprise party for me.. Thank God for friends!! watch out for the handmade taz card i got!

precious friendship

I thank the Lord for 10 years of precious friendship..
Friends in this combination is hard to come by.. we went 4 different ways after Cedar and are still able to keep up with one another.. i think its a great feat and effort that each one has put in.. I hope we'll get through this time and come out even stronger and truer.. Guess i've always taken for granted that meeting once in awhile is sufficient.. Each one of you mean more to me than u imagine.. and you're constantly on my prayer list..

To love, is harder than i thought..

I want to be able to LOVE like God wants us to... I want LOVE to be my motivating factor to serve, to reach out... LOVE is one of the greatest spiritual gifts.

I think love is..
.. being tolerant and patient when there's nagging at home.
.. trying to understand the thoughts of older family members and appreciate their care.
.. remembering all the small things that they tell us.
.. learning to talk and chat with family members even though there seems to be nothing to say.
.. going the extra mile to do things even before they tell us to. (housework?..)
.. not raising my voice unneccessarily.
.. not dismissing words that they say.
.. ..

Ying Jie's Wedding

Went to style my hair for my cousin's wedding yesterday..i found it so exciting!! Her wedding was interesting because she had her solemnization conducted just before the dinner at the hotel ballroom itself.. and i got to pop the party poppers too. It was a really sweet wedding. The couple even sang a duet as they walked in at the 2nd entrance. I think my cousin is so pretty..

Oh Meiying, wish u could be there too. I'll send u photos as soon as i get them. And i signed off for u too on her guestbook.. =D Anyway Da Gu Ma really liked the earrings you made..

I think i'm learning to enjoy gatherings with my family more n more.. like learning to cherish every moment. Guess when i was younger, gatherings were boring.. but now i get to talk to my aunties and uncles and even play with the little babies.. i have 4 nephews and 2 nieces.. eek so old.. ha!

I think my term breaK is so short.. i never seem to have enough time to do anything.. why?? sigh.. How does one remain thankful & joyful all the time? Where can i go when i want a place to hide? Why can't i just hibernate somewhere n finish my thesis with no disruptions? Why am i not progressing?

The Youth Choir finally performed "For Such A Time As This". We thot we'll never do it.. but we DID! by God's grace.. though i made a silly mistake at the end which Jon spotted..



And Sunday afternoon i went rockclimbing!! so exciting.. i really love this sport.. its super tiring and aching for me but its so challenging too.. =D



And...this morning i went to Singapore's newest intelligent building - National Library Board.. heh.. sorry but this is from a Building student's point of view.. Went to the VIP room on 16th floor for refreshments too.. great view of our cityscape from there..



actually this last photo is the interior of a cooling tower.. i was amazed that i could caption the spinning fans in slow motion. i never knew digi cams do that..

Bethany's 33rd Anniversary

My Church's 33rd Anniversary was just over on saturday! Amazing.. even though i'm not in this church since young.. but looking at how well we're growing now really amazes me..

Why I love Bethany?
- coz i came to know the Lord for REAL here..
- coz of the people who have reached out to me & taught me & befriended me & loved me
- coz its in Bethany that i see true & humble hearts that want to serve God
- coz i've learnt how to worship God it truth & in spirit rather than outwardly
- coz the Lord's Word is preached with much dedication & truth



This is my beloved AV family of whom i've been serving together in the background for at least 5 years.

I thank God for this wonderful family in Christ!

National Day tribute..

For 9 August:
Happy National Day Singapore!!

My first and last time celebrating National Day at the national stadium itself. The action moved pretty fast and everything ended sooner than i expected. Maybe that's coz i had quite a fun time whacking the clappers and cheering.. its been a long time since i did that. I muz admit being there with the 6000 crowd was really quite exciting. But i guess it'll be a once-in-a-lifetime thing i'll do. I loved it when the F6s flew past... WOSH!!! i felt like the ground was shaking beneath me!! I loved the fireworks too and the band performance... i had a good view of the cameraman in action too.. typical AV person watching out for such stuff i guess. Min and i was also trying to figure out how the lightings in the stadium worked.

Sadly this whole event ended with us squeezing with the crowd for 45 minutes just to get to the Kallang MRT station which was only 15 minutes away.. but we had the YPG comm chalet to look forward to. Thanks Kenneth for organising it. Though Min and i missed out most part of it. But it was just fun playing some board games and chatting with some of them..

This 2 days have been a time of remembering nice national day songs and being ra-ra and patriotic towards my wonderful homeland, Singapore... =D

1st entry - Isaiah 40

This is my brand new blog. Gonna make my first entry real long... heh...

I've always loved nature... mountains, hills, jungles, beaches, seas, waves, animals, sunrise, waterfalls!!.. Last week i got a chance to escape from city life and to soak in NATURE at Redang (Malaysia) with my church friends... it was BEAUTIFUL!... the sand was white, the waters were blue, the fishes were colourful!!

Nature reminds me of the mighty Creator...

Isaiah 40
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand,
Measured the heavens with a span
And calculated the dust of the earth in a measure?
Weighed the mountains in scales and the hills in a balance?

"To whom then will you liken Me,
Or to whom shall I equal?" says the Holy One.
Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these things...

But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40 now makes so much more sense...
